As you can see, our skin was designed by MAS Designs. I'm a big fan of the colour scheme and the images, and I like it a lot. Feedback on it is of course welcome, and we're planning on changing versions every so often just for a change - so if you'd like to see a certain colour combination we're very open to suggestions.

What's this 'Icon Monies' thing? And what about the shop

You might've noticed your 'monies' section in your profile goes up by 2 every time you post. So, by posting, you're earning money (well, forum money anyway). This isn't purely for show. We have a shop, which at the moment doesn't have much variety, but is still looking for suggestions for different things for members to purchase. If you'd like to help, check out the shop.

You'll see this thread on quite a few forums, useful one as well since it lets the staff know what methods of advertising are working best. Did you find us through a link in someone's signature? Maybe through an affiliate banner on another forum? Or perhaps you were just told about us by a friend?

However you found out about us, we'd be delighted to hear, and you can post it either here or in your introduction thread. Hope you enjoy your time on Icon.

What is the member rank system? How many more posts will I need to move to the next rank?

Member Ranks are currently as follows:

0 - 9 posts - New Member
10 - 99 posts - Member
100 - 499 posts - Regular
500 - 999 posts - Legend
1000 - 4999 posts - Icon
5000 + posts - Cult Status

Good luck in moving up the ranks!

Can I be a staff member?

We'll definitely be looking for staff at some point. We'll need them to improve activity and moderate the boards. The best way to put yourself forward is by showing a high level of maturity and making good posts. If you do this you may well be offered a staff position in the future. Also, keep up to date with the 'Listen Up!' board, as we'll have details of what sort of staff we're looking for in there, when the time comes.

Hello, welcome to Icon. Our aim is to build up a large community of members, have topics related to every subject and become one of the best places to chat on the net. Please read the following guidelines so that your postings will be well respected here and you and other members will enjoy themselves.

Respect other members and their opinions. We encourage active debate, but do not resort to the level of playground name calling or flaming.
Posting of pornographic images or links are strictly prohibited. This is a family board - so try to keep things PG13.
We will not tolerate any racist, sexist or homophobic posts.
English is the primary language of this board. Posting a few words in another language is acceptable, however keep most of your postings in English, so we can all appreciate your views. Similarly, keep text speek to a minimum.
Other than this, just use common sense when deciding whether or not something is acceptable to post. If in doubt, don't hessitate to PM myself.

Obviously staff here can't be online 24/7, but we will try to remove any rule breaking posts as soon as we can.
